A downloadable game for Windows

It's time to fill the mail call! Are you ready?

Mail Call is an indie shooter where you play as two different brothers attempting to thwart the rogue envelopes that are invading the mailrooms! Your job is to play as the different characters and navigate the different worlds in order to defeat the envelopes and their scheming masters!

Story

You're a recently hired postman named Pop (he's really a court jester, but don't tell anyone :P) who has been tasked with filling the daily mail call that scours the post office. However, one day, the envelopes all come alive and start to envelop people, so you must use your courage, bag-throwing abilities, and help from your slingshot geek friend Bop to sack this mail once and for all!

Premise

Mail your way through two different worlds with a mix of both shooter and maze exploration styles! Your goal in each shooter level is to set the highest score by throwing bags at envelopes as much as you can. Be careful though, if one of the envelopes touches you, you'll have to start the level over! Some envelopes are faster than others, so keep an eye out and memorize strategies to hinder them.

There are other obstacles such as spike balls and enemy killers as well that you must use both to your advantage and disadvantage. And let's not forget the Level Select between levels, where Johner will chat and hang out with you as you head to another level.

In each level lies a snail-speed green box. If you want to go to the next level, you just go to the box once you've completely grabbed all the envelopes, which is the correct way to complete the game!

You can also play as Bop, who is useful with his extra fast slingshot projectiles. Navigate the mazes as much as you can to reach the altar as well as discover different secrets. (Who knows, you might fight a giant cookie if you're lucky enough with him...)

Current State

Because this game had many issues upon its first releases, I'm actively working towards a full version of the game. This will include a lot more content like characters, levels, enemies, etc. I also plan to do tons of improvements and reworks to make sure every aspect of the game is better than it was before. This is to keep things in check and learn the tools of the trade when working in game development.

Due to mental health and school, updates will currently range about once a month.

WELL, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DOWNLOAD THE GAME AND GET STARTED ON FILLING TODAY'S MAIL CALL!

Install instructions

  1. Download the game or soundtrack.
  2. Right-click and select "Extract All."
  3. Choose an empty folder to put the game files in.
  4. Once complete, go to the folder you extracted the files. Select the EXE application (if game) or one of the MP3 files (if soundtrack).
  5. Enjoy!

Be aware that this only works on Windows, since that's the only system the game or soundtrack will run on. I'm hoping to figure out a way of getting the game on Mac OS.

Also, don't delete any files within the main folder, or else the EXE won't launch the game properly.
